ASRC Federal support DonorsChoose for Giving TuesdayFor the third year in a row, ASRC Federal teamed up with to fund STEM classroom projects across the United States.DonorsChoose is a non-profit organization that allows individuals to donate directly to public school projects. This year, ASRC Federal donated $25,000 to fund 202 classroom projects in 184 schools across 33 states.

As part of our DonorsChoose campaign, Program Managers (PMs), on behalf of their teams, and individual employees selected teacher projects to fund from the DonorsChoose site using electronic gift codes provided by ASRC Federal. This year, 80 employees who were randomly selected, participated in the program.

鈥淚 enjoyed so much getting feedback from the teacher last year that I鈥檓 overjoyed to be able to do it again this year!鈥 says Rose Kloehn, ASRC Federal senior proposal development analyst. 鈥淚 love that ASRC Federal has chosen to support our public school teachers and am inspired by the opportunity to continue to give to communities across the country.鈥

The DonorsChoose mission is to make it easy for anyone to help a teacher in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.听

More than $5,000 was given to projects in Alaska (including Wainwright, Nuiqsut and Point Hope).听Seventy-eight percent of projects supported more than 50 percent student population from low-income households.

Ninety teachers provided comments directly to our employees to share the impact that the donations will have in their classrooms, and here鈥檚 a sampling of what they said:听听

鈥淭hank you very much for donating LEGO sets to my classroom! Today, we had our first STEM center rotations, and the kids absolutely loved using the new LEGOs to build different things. I am glad to be incorporating more hands-on activities into their learning. Thanks for helping make that possible.” 鈥 Mrs. Barraza, Gates Elementary Los Angeles, Calif.

“Thank you for your generous donation! My job is to excite my students about science and the possibility of them becoming a geologist, biologist, engineers and other careers in STEM and science. With your help, I hope to inspire the next generation of scientists and professionals to meet their goals and make a better world for all.” – Ms. Flores Monarrez Rocky Point Prep Denver Colo.

“I have such a great class – they鈥檙e enthusiastic students and will be thrilled to have access to these engaging materials. I鈥檓 thrilled also to not have to cobble together countless resources from different places. I feel confident this will help with our state science test results and launch my kids toward middle school!” – Mrs. Morrow, Snowshoe Elementary School, Wasilla, Alaska.

鈥淭hank you so much for offering such a wonderful program. What an amazing opportunity to make a difference,鈥 says Dama Fraley, ASRC Federal material analyst.
